iOS DevOps Capability Lead

MacStadium is the leading managed Mac hosting solution in the world and is headquartered in Atlanta, GA.  We offer the only enterprise-class hosting solution for Apple Mac computers, providing critical infrastructure for iOS and macOS developers at leading tech companies, big enterprises, and more.  MacStadium is part of an ecosystem where apps and programs are built that are changing the way people live. It’s likely that numerous apps on your iPhone were built or tested in MacStadium’s data centers.

 What We Need:

This role will act as our resident expert on iOS DevOps use cases, a critical voice in steering product development, and a resource to our customers to help them adopt MacStadium. As the iOS DevOps Capability Lead, you will be responsible for doing customer research to understand top issues and design best practices that help customers overcome those issues.

You’ll act as MacStadium’s “internal voice of the customer” during product and engineering discussions to help ensure our development efforts are being defined, prioritized, and executed properly. This insight should come from the candidate’s prior experience and frequent touchpoints with customers to help them get internal CI systems setup, configured, and optimized using MacStadium tools. This may involve writing code and documentation or just consulting with customers. Excess time should be spent participating in the community to keep a finger on the pulse of new developments to ensure successful execution of the tasks above.

The right person for this role will be someone with plenty of DevOps expertise coming in the door and a desire to get very deep on the complexities, tools, and needs of the iOS/Mac app DevOps use case. Additionally, the right person will enjoy shaping the company’s product strategy while at the same time working with a varied set of big-name customers to ensure they are successful while at the same time learning from them and capturing the insights.

What you will be doing:

  • Interview top customers to understand their needs, issues, and the solutions they have identified – capture insights and play them back to product and development teams
  • Develop “MacStadium Best Practices” based on your own efforts and lessons-learned from ongoing customer interviews and deployments
  • Support new customers and prospects to ensure they can successfully migrate their CI environments to MacStadium infrastructure – and in most cases help them IMPROVE their CI setup as they adopt MacStadium.
  • Work with Product and Development teams to create a well-defined roadmap to address identified needs and make MacStadium easier to use, adopt, and consume
  • Continually help to educate our product, development, sales, and engineering teams on iOS CI best practices, lessons from recent customer interactions, etc.

What skills and experience you need to have:

  • Expertise and a point-of-view on creating great CI/CD pipelines
  • Expertise with DevOps tools (Terraform, Ansible, Packer, Chef, Puppet, Jenkins, etc.)
  • Curiosity and passion for DevOps and a track record of getting deep in technology
  • Experience with iOS/Mac DevOps specifically will be a huge plus
  • Ability to diagnose issues and teach/coach customers on best practices
  • Strong writing and presentation skills and the ability to capture good documentation
  • Startup experience (i.e., working in fast-paced, high growth environments)

What you will get:

  • The opportunity to work with an early stage company that has proven to be the leader in Mac hosting solutions with people that are excited to come to work every day.
  • To work as part of a team in our brand new office space located in beautiful amenity filled Piedmont Center in the heart of Buckhead.
  • Competitive pay, benefits and free shuttle to MARTA.
